RECREATIONAL CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Bouncing Babies

This program is designed for children 2 years old, and is 45 minutes long. This class is open to boys and girls. We ask that one parent/guardian participate with the child in the class. In these classes the Bouncing Babies experience the very basic foundations of gymnastics. With the assistance of parents and a coach, children will have the opportunity to walk across the balance beam, participate in an obstacle course on floor, jump on the trampolines, and swing on the bars.

Tiny Tumblers

Tiny Tumblers is kids 3 years old. Classes for these children are 1 hour in length, open to boys and girls. Parents do not participate in this program. We only allowed parents to come inside our facility for the first month to help make children comfortable with their routine. Children in this program needs to be toilet trained. These gymnasts participate on the bars, balance beam, floor and in-ground tumble track. Gymnasts in this age group are expected to begin building coordination and body awareness while having fun learning basic technique.

Kinder Gym

Ages 4 to 5 years old are members of the Kinder Gym program. The duration of their classes is 1 hour and 15 minutes. This program is for girls and boys in junior and senior kindergarten. This age group does all four of the primary events: balance beam, the floor exercise, uneven bars, and vault. In these classes children are starting to do more of the basic skills of gymnastics, such as learning a cartwheel and basic bridge, as well as different body positions and coordination progressions.

Kids In Progress

KIP are the gymnasts who are 6 to 8 years old. These girls are in a class for 1 hour and 30 minutes. This age is when gymnasts begin learning the Fundamentals of Gymnastics. This age group participates on all events, with the expectation of meeting their potential in the basic skills. KIP are developing strength, flexibility, and continuing the progression of understanding of the skills learned as a Kinder Gym athlete.

Juniors

Gymnasts ages 9 to 11 years old are considered Juniors. This program runs for 1 hour and 30 minutes. It is expected that gymnasts work on mastering their Foundational elements, such as supporting themselves in a handstand. Floor, bars, balance beam, and vault are all a focus for these kids. Coaches aim to assist the gymnasts in building a progression of future skills based on their Foundational elements previously learned.

Teen Challenge

Teen Challenge is 1 hour and 30 minutes in length, for ages 12 to 14. Gymnasts are expected to challenge themselves on every event. They try to achieve their own goals within the program, and use their Foundations knowledge to develop a better understanding and awareness of the skills they are doing. Volunteer opportunities within the gym are available to gymnasts in this age group, such as assisting a certified coach with younger age groups.

Boys

The Boys groups range from 6 to 9 years old, and from 10 to 13 years old. These groups have recently bee added to our program. Training sessions are 1 hour and 30 minutes long. Attention is given to strength, coordination, and balance. Gymnasts in this group are exposed to events such as floor, tumble track, vault, rings, pommel horse, and bars.

Clothing Expectations

Your children should be prepared for the class with hair tied up, and appropriate gymnastics clothing (gymnastics suit or tights and tight T-shirt). Two pieces suit or Tutu’s are not allowed (no bellybutton showing). Bare feet.
